Mask Maker Forum- June 18 12pm- 5pm

This is a rare opportunity to work with Alaskan master artists whose work appears in museums in and outside of Alaska. These Alaska Native Mask-makers will present a half day workshop to discuss mask making and provide a brief, hands-on introduction to the art form. There will be a lot of discussion about aspects of mask making and each participant will get the opportunity to see the tools, feel the materials, and experiment with some of the techniques. These are serious artists who do not often give such workshops. The workshop presenters will be presenting a plenary panel discussion on June 19. This is also a chance to speak with them before the conference begins. This session is limited to 15 people. We have Alaskans who would like to participate in this workshop because these artists do not do this often. We will reserve space for PATNet members until June 1.

Cost: $90 per person, includes materials. For more information about this class call (907) 786-4136, or send email to asjss9@uaa.alaska.edu. Registration deadline is June 1.
