Master of Public Administration Program
Overview
The Master of Public
Administration (MPA) Program provides students with the knowledge and skills
necessary for professional careers in public service. The MPA program is a
member of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and
Administration. MPA students have a choice of emphasizing in Public Management,
Policy Analysis, Health Administration, or Criminal Justice. Public Management
provides basic tools of the field, focusing on the structure and processes of
public organizations. Policy Analysis deals with the application of economic
analysis and other quantitative methods. Health Administration focuses on
developing the knowledge and skills necessary for effective public management in
health care. Criminal Justice is applicable for a wide spectrum of employment
opportunities from law enforcement to positions in the criminal justice system.
