Previous Experience:
Prior to joining the UAA faculty in 1987 Dr. Srivastava taught at the University of Baltimore in Maryland, the University of Maryland, Illinois State University and the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. He has also been a financial planner and a sales representative for the Independent Order of Foresters in Calgary.

Areas of Expertise:
Dr. Srivastava specializes in financial markets and institutions, financial theory, corporate finance and investments.

University, Professional, Public Service:
Dr. Srivastava serves as the Chair of Business Administration Department and the AACSB accreditation and standards commitee of CBPP. He also serves as the Chair of the Investment Advisory Commission of the Municipality of Anchorage. He co-chairs UAA's GER subcomittee. He has served as the chair of the Budget, Planning and Facilities Advisory Committee and as member of the Faculty Senate. He has also served on the Academic Affairs Board, the Library Advisory Committee and the Research and Sabbatical Leave Committee. Dr. Srivastava has served as the Chair of CBPP's Promotion and Tenure Committee and School of Business's Standards Committee. on the Graduate Committee, the Quality Improvement Council and Scholarship Evaluation Committee for the School of Business and as faculty advisor to the UAA Finance Club.

Professional Affiliations:
Dr. Srivastava is a member of the American Finance Associations, the Beta Gamma Sigma Society, the Financial Management Association and the Decision Science Institute. As member of the Cultural Association of India, Anchorage chapter, Dr. Srivastava has served that organization as President, Treasurer and Executive Officer.

Scholarship/Creative Activity:
Dr. Srivastava has published several professional articles in journals and proceedings dealing with his areas of special interest: profitability and the default risk of commercial banks, the efficiency of financial markets, the interest rate risk of bank stocks and the mean-semi variance models. Recent publications include "Inventory Financing Decisions Under Risk-Aversion" in the Proceedings of the Western Decision Science Institute in 1998 and "Investigating a New Methodology for Ranking International Mutual Funds," (with Musa Essayad) in the Journal of Economics and Finance in 1994. Dr. Srivastava has also made numerous presentations at financial conferences, including "Financial Markets and Institutions," a seminar presentation addressing Russian small business owners sponsored annually by UAA's American-Russian, executive education seminars for minority small business entrepreneurs and investment seminars for the MTA Pension Plan Board of Trustees.

Honors, Awards, Certificates, Licenses:
Dr. Srivastava has been awarded numerous Research Travel Grants by UAA.
