Previous Experience:
As Dr. Bhattacharyya puts it-he is currently on his 3rd country, 3rd career, 5th job and 2nd Ph.D. He started his career as a Mechanical Engineer with the Indian Railways, moved on to the financial services industry and then to academics. He thinks that in life you may have to kiss a few frogs and he is lucky that he found his perfect career after only three tries. He has over twelve years of academic experience in three different countries-India, Canada and the USA.

University, Professional, Public Service:
Dr. Bhattacharyya is actively involved in providing service to the University and to his profession. He is a member of the University Senate and is a Member of Academic Computing, Distance Learning and Instructional Technology Committee. At the College level he is a member of the Assessment Committee. He has reviewed a number of papers for academic journals. He has organized academic conferences.

Scholarship/Creative Activity:
Dr. Bhattacharyya has an eclectic research interest. Primarily he is a theoretician who likes to understand the real world by constructing models. After developing his theory he likes to test the theoretical implications with real world data and this is the empirical strand of his research. Dr. Bhattacharyya is also a strong proponent of interdisciplinary research. He has co-authored papers with other researchers from other areas like Accounting, Operational Research and Marketing.
