Previous Experience:
Professor Rubin began her teaching career in New York where she taught seconday school for seven years. Prior to becoming a faculty member at UAA, she worked for a number of businesses in Houston, Texas. She came to Alaska in 1979. In addition to teaching biology lab courses for UAA, she worked at a number of local businesses. She worked for the Anchorage Daily News from 1980 to 1985. She began teaching at UAA in 1983 as an adjunct professor. She became a full-time faculty member in 1985.

Areas of Expertise:

University, Professional, Public Service:
Professor Rubin served two years as President of the Alaska Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) and she continues to serve on the Board of Directors of the AMA. She serves as the College of Business and Public Policy Business Administration Internship Coordinator. She is a member of the College of Business and Public Policy Peer Review Committee. She served on the Business and Industry Advisory Council, the Curriculum Review Committee, the Academic Policy and Curriculum Board and as Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Student Evaluation of Instruction. In addition, she has served as Co-Chair of the Teaching Excellence Program for two years. Professor Rubin has served on the Board of Directors of the Anchorage Center for Families, the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, and the Anchorage School District Public Relations Team. She served ten years on the Boys and Girls Club Prize Committee and is frequently asked to give workshop presentations to various business organizations in Anchorage.
