Degrees:

     Ph.D. - Business Administration, Washington State University at Pullman, 1996
     M.B.A. - Eastern Washington University, 1982
     B.A. - Business Administration (Marketing), Eastern Washington University, 1978

Previous Experience:
Dr. Jeffries took on his current appointment in 1997 after several years as an adjunct and visiting assistant professor at UAA. He also taught at Washington State University at Pullman while completing his doctorate. In addition to his teaching experience, Dr. Jeffries has also served as product manager and manager of technology marketing for private firms in Washington state and California.

Areas of Expertise:
Dr. Jeffries's teaching interests include organizational behavior, organization development, negotiation and conflict resolution. He has done considerable research in the areas of negotiation and trust.

University, Professional, Public Service:
Dr. Jeffries has served the College of Business and Public Policy as a member of the Academic Standards Committee, the Curriculum Review and Improvement Committee and the Graduate Committee. He has chaired the BBA Management Team and currently chairs the AACSB Review Committee.  He also is on the university wide Outcome Assessment Committee. In 2002-2003 he served on the UAA Master Plan Steering Committee.. 

Professional Affiliations:
Dr. Jeffries is a member of the Academy of Management, the Institute for Business and Applied Management, and the Western Academy of Management.

Scholarship/Creative Activity:
Dr. Jeffries has published journal articles in the Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management, and Educational and Psychological Measurement. He has presented numerous papers at professional meetings and conferences. His current research interests include the influence of trust on negotiations, the relationship between leadership and motivation, the relationship between trust and cooperation and the role of emotional intelligence in ethical decision making..

Honors, Awards, Certificates, Licenses:
Dr. Jeffries was named the Advisor of the Year in 1998 and he was also listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 1998 and 2000. He has also received five nominations for UAA Teacher of the Year (1995, 1996, 1997, 1999, and 2000). Dr. Jeffries was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Scholastic Honor Society in 1978.
