ATTENDANCE AND HOMEWORK POLICY
All student s are expected to attend class prepared for the discussion or homework assignments to be covered that day. To be successful in this class it is extremely important that you keep current with the reading and written homework assignments.
Homework must be turned in by the end of class on the dates listed on the attached schedule in order to earn full credit. Half credit will be awarded for any homework turned in late, but before the day of the test covering that chapter. No credit will be awarded for incomplete assignments or for assignments submitted after the date of the test covering that chapter. DO NOT COPY AND PASTE SOLUTIONS FROM THE SOLUTIONS MANUAL AND TURN IT IN AS YOUR OWN WORK. THAT IS CLEARLY A FORM OF PLAGERISM.
The homework assigned can be considered the minimum required to understand the material covered in the chapter. I encourage you to complete additional assignments to gain a better understanding. You may use the solution manual in my office to check any additional work you do or check solutions on the F drive (Loki) in the computer lab. Solutions will also be posted on Blackboard.
There will be no instructor initiated withdrawals. Any student who stops attending class but does not officially withdraw will receive a grade of “F”. Please note that the withdrawal deadline is November 20, 2006.
TEST AND QUIZ POLICY
There will be three (3) tests given during the semester. The tests are scheduled in advance and it is your responsibility to arrange your schedule to attend class on these days. Arrangements for make-up exams must be made in advance with the instructor’s permission. All make-up exams will be administered on Nov. 10, 2006 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., unless other arrangements are made in advance. The location of the make-up tests will be announced at a later date.
There will be a number of unannounced, timed quizzes administered during the semester. Quizzes will generally be given during the first ten minutes of the class session. There will be no make-ups allowed on quizzes, but you will be allowed to drop one quiz grade in the final grade calculation. These quizzes will cover information discussed in previous class sessions or information to be discussed during the current session. It is strongly recommended that you read the chapter material before coming to class.
CORPORATE ANNUAL REPORT PROJECT
Throughout the semester you will be completing a corporate annual report project using a workbook by William Pasewark. You will be divided into three-person teams to work on this project. Each team will be assigned a different publicly traded corporation
Additional information and week to week assignments from this workbook will be discussed during the third week of the semester.
