2008 Fall Tuition Waiver
Application Guidelines

Tuition
credit waivers will be awarded based on
talent, merit or leadership involvement;
high demand fields; and/or in response to
new strategic opportunities for the
student(s).
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS for an ACADEMIC
TUITION WAIVER:

Undergraduate students
-
Must be officially enrolled at UAA
for at least 3 credits
-
Formally admitted into a CBPP degree
seeking program or certificate
-
Enrolled in a minimum of three
credits in a program leading to a
degree or certificate from the CBPP
and maintain a GPA of 2.8
-
Graduate students
Undergraduate and Graduate students must
also be in current satisfactory academic
standing with the University of Alaska
system policy. If GPA is not maintained
and/or all courses are not completed, the
student will be ineligible for a tuition
waiver the following semester.
Spring 2008 DEADLINE:
Friday, July 18, 2008
APPLICATION PROCESS:
I. Submit applications to: Roxana
Petrilla, Rasmuson Hall
(RH) – Room 305B.
II. Student must provide a complete
application packet (all of the information
outlined below): Packet must be paper
clipped together (no staples or binders).

Complete the College of Business and Public
Policy 2008 Fall Tuition Waiver
Application Form.
PAGE TWO
Letter by applicant stating reasons he/she
is a candidate for a Tuition Waiver, stating
an overall academic and career goal
(Certificate, Associate, Bachelor, and/or
Masters degree), listing academic schedule
for the semester of the waiver, including
credits per class. List projected plan for
the following semesters to complete
certificate or degree.
PAGE THREE AND FOUR
Provide two letters of recommendation: one
from a UAA faculty/advisor and one from
someone outside of UAA. Letters must have
original signatures (no copies accepted, no
e-mail attachments) and the contact
information for those providing a
recommendation.
PAGE FIVE
Attach an unofficial transcript and verification of
degree-seeking status (must be printed,
signed and dated by the Student Information
Office Coordinator)
from the Banner screen SHA2TRU.
